Context
Our client is undergoing a significant transformation, with digital technologies positioned as key drivers of change. This transformation involves leveraging the extensive know-how, knowledge, and both structured and unstructured datasets within the Group. To facilitate this, our client has established a micro-startup around AI which focuses on Generative AI through in-house or deployed applications.
Role of GPT Product Owner:
The new GPT Product Owner will be integral to the team, tasked with growing the product. The primary focus is on delivering value quickly, with speed and agility, while ensuring compliance, ethics, and adherence to regulations. The Product Owner will contribute to Syensqo's growth and development, maintaining a sharp focus on prioritizing based on Syensqo.ai objectives and delivering prioritized features. Given the current business, macroeconomic, and climate crisis context, timely execution is crucial.
Key Responsibilities:
– Product Leadership: Lead a SCRUM team, ensuring that all development activities align with the company’s strategic goals and deliver maximized value.
– Backlog Management: Manage the product backlog for GPT, prioritizing clarity, relevance, and development readiness. Lead sprint planning, execution, and review sessions to ensure timely delivery of features.
– Vision & Strategy: Develop and communicate a clear vision and strategy for GPT, supporting the company’s objectives. Regularly update the roadmap to reflect evolving business needs and technology opportunities.
– Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the principal liaison between technical teams and business units. Regularly engage with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates, and incorporate feedback to enhance the platform’s functionality.
– Performance Monitoring: Utilize key performance indicators to track the platform’s effectiveness and guide decision-making for improvements or future enhancements.
– Market Insight: Analyze market trends in AI and chatbot technologies to continuously improve the platform and ensure it remains competitive and cutting-edge.
– Governance & Prioritization: Implement governance within the Agile framework to facilitate effective decision-making and maintain focus on high-impact projects.
– User Adoption & Feedback: Evaluate the adoption rates and user satisfaction of the platform, adjusting strategies based on real user feedback and analytics. Collaborate with change management to maximize user engagement and satisfaction.
Additional Responsibilities:
– Value Focus: Maximize product value linked to business value worked in collaboration with Product Managers.
– Reporting & Collaboration: Track, analyze, and report on platform performance and strategic achievements.
– Detailed Planning: Break down complex features into manageable tasks to streamline sprint execution and ensure clarity across the development team.
– Team Coordination: Foster effective communication with team members, including AI Researchers, Software Engineers, and Data Analysts, to ensure precise implementation of features.
– Agile Involvement: Engage actively in daily stand-ups, sprint planning sessions, and retrospectives, monitoring progress to meet set goals and acceptance criteria.
Key Stakeholder Interactions:
– User Engagement: Build strong relationships with internal users to understand needs and gather feedback.
Cross-Functional Collaboration and alignment: Coordinate with other product managers, operations, business stakeholders/SyGPT users, and IT departments.
PROFILE – Education and experience
– 5+ years as a Business Analyst or Product Owner building software.
– 3+ years of software development experience in an Agile setting (Agile/Scrum methodology experience (SAFE methodology)).
– Proven experience in product management, ideally with a focus on AI or technology products.
– Strong understanding of generative AI technologies (e.g., GPT, Mistral, Gemini…) and their applications.
– Excellent verbal / written communication and interpersonal skills.
– Proficiency in using project management and collaboration tools (e.g., JIRA, Trello) is preferred.
– Strong organizational & time management skills, with a self-starting, entrepreneurial mindset.
– Team player and leader capable of bringing people together toward a common goal.
– Proven ability to translate non-technical information into a technical level of detail that developers can work with.
– Being data driven (OKRs and KPIs) to validate the roadmap to management.
– CSPO or PSPO I certification
– Fluent in English (proficient in French is preferred).
– Exceptional strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
– Creativity, curiosity and a passion for innovation and technology.
