Business Continuity Specialist
MissionÂ
Design, develop and implement a comprehensive Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and Business Continuity Plan (BCP) across DT.Â
The scope includes identifying critical business functions, assessing the potential impact of disruptions, determining recovery priorities and timeframes, and defining mitigation strategies.Â
The BIA will serve as the foundation for the BCP, which will include detailed response and recovery procedures, roles and responsibilities, communication plans, and testing protocols.Â
The mission includes engaging with key stakeholders across business units, ensuring alignment with regulatory and industry standards, and providing training and awareness to support adoption and sustainability.
The scope also includes developing a methodology and template for the development of GBU BCPs, mapping existing BCPs as well as developing a contact list for resilience purpose across GBUs
Primary Responsibilities
Develop approach and plan for the delivery of the project stream, report on progress and active management of initiative (risk management, budget management, etc);
Execution of the project stream:
- Co-ordinate / conduct Business Impact Analysis (BIA) to identify critical processes, resources, recovery objectives and dependencies
- Work with DT stakeholders to design, develop, and maintain department level Business Continuity Plans (BCP).
- Identify appropriate recovery strategies taking into consideration recovery objective / regulatory requirements and cost.
- Drive the comms and or change management activities to implement business continuity plan
- Ensure BCP comply with regulatory requirements (e.g., NIS2)
- Collect GBUs BCP and key points of contact to initiateÂ
- Resilience network across the organisation
- Define standard methodology & template to be adopted by Business Units across organization
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven record / demonstrated hands-on experience in cybersecurity environments and similar engagements.
- Practical experience in a senior role in a similar organization with responsibility for Business Continuity Management.
- An understanding of and / or experience / qualification of Business Continuity Management and operational resilience principles and best practices (Business Continuity Institute).
- In depth awareness of business continuity, operational resilience and risk management.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity standards and frameworks relevant (NIST CSF for IT/OT, ISO27k, IEC 62443, CyFun).
- Knowledge of NIS2 directive and expectations
- Basic project management capabilities including chairing working group meetings, managing work streams, scheduling project action plans.
- Excellent communication skills are critical to ensure risk and control understanding is embedded throughout the business.
- Excellent English writing skills with the ability to create clear, concise, and technically accurate documentation.
- Experience of leading IT security procedures and best practices.
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet tight deadlines.
