Role Overview:
We are looking for a Network Engineer Level 2 with strong hands-on experience in Cisco and Fortinet technologies. The ideal candidate will support the customer’s network infrastructure across multiple environments, ensure operational continuity, and contribute to small-scale improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain Cisco and Fortinet-based network infrastructure
- Manage firewalls, switches, VPNs, and routing protocols
- Support incident resolution (2nd level) and work closely with the internal IT team
- Perform network changes and upgrades with minimal downtime
- Ensure network security policies and procedures are followed
- Support documentation and knowledge sharing
Required Skills & Experience:
- 3+ years of experience as a Network Engineer or similar role
- Solid expertise with Cisco routing & switching
- Strong experience with Fortinet firewalls (FortiGate)
- Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools
- Good understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, and firewall policies
- Fluent German (must), English is a plus
- Ability to work independently in a semi-rural on-site environment
