Key responsibilities and must have skills:
Provide call-on-duty support as needed.
– Support and forecasting future AS400 requirements based on current trends and expected
growth could be added.
– Analyze AS400 system utilization patterns to plan for hardware and software upgrades
– Ensuring resources provisioning can meet future business requirements.
– Involvement in the change management process phases such as planning, scheduling, testing,
implementing and reviewing.
– Comply with all relevant regulatory and legal requirements (e.g., GDPR, SOX) and internal or
external auditing standards related to the AS400.
– Manage and document controls, processes, and audits related to data integrity, access rights,
and security policies.
– Cooperate with the Client's auditors and provide evidence and documentation as requested.
– Ensure that the system complies with the industry standards and regulations that apply to the
business domain and the data processed by the AS400, such as GDPR, HIPAA and PCI DSS.
– Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, procedures, and
maintenance routines, best practices, troubleshooting guides and solutions, backup and recovery
plans, system logs and reports.
The Consultant will also Cross-train the IT staff on the AS400 environment and provide knowledge
transfer and mentoring as needed.

plans.
– Ensure backup and restore procedures, failover and recovery mechanisms, and contingency
plans are in place and functional.
– Participate in regular disaster recovery drills and exercises.
Identify, respond and recover from incidents affecting the JDE. (JDE,Out of Scope)
– Notify the Client of any breaches or attacks.
– Isolate and contain the threat, restoring normal operations, and conducting root cause analysis
and remediation.
– Follow the Client's security incident response policies and procedures.
– Manage and maintain system and application jobs/tasks as required in Help
Systems – Robot Scheduler
– Monitor execution of scheduled jobs/task with Help Systems – Robot
Scheduler and Robot Alerts. Remediate failed and held jobs, manage job
queue and alert/report to Contractor all issues. Critical job failures, impacting
application and/or data availability or integrity requires 24×7 notification to Contractor.

producing forecasts for future requirements.

corrective and preventive actions to ensure that Application performance is at an acceptable level
as determined by the contractor.

and replacement in coordination with local hardware/Operating system maintenance vendors.
– Establishing measures for and reporting the availability, reliability and maintainability of the
System, including LPARs as determined by the Client.
– Reviewing and maintaining System component availability and functionality at required
levels and identifying unacceptable levels.
– Investigating underlying reasons for unacceptable System, including LPARs, availability or
functionality.
– Producing and maintaining System availability plan, which prioritizes and plans System
availability improvements.
– Determining the System availability requirements for a new or enhanced functionality and
formulating availability and recovery designs.
– Defining the targets for availability, reliability and maintainability of System components and

– Installation of IBM system patches, PTFs and other available fixes, periodically and on

Application data, programs and libraries.
– Perform backups on schedule as required (daily, weekly, monthly). Coordinate physical backup
media changes with onsite staff for media rotation and offsite storage.
– Perform on demand Application data, programs and libraries restoration as
required.
-Detailing responsibilities around database and application performance tuning, including SQL
optimization, caching strategies, and application server configuration adjustments, could be
added. This ensures AS400 run efficiently under varying loads.
– Research and implement new technologies or methodologies that could enhance the
performance, security, or functionality.
– Provide suggestions and feedback to the Client on how to improve the AS400and it's processes.
– Manage and implementation of security controls when requested.
– Confidentiality by accessing sensitive information provided only to authorized
personnel.
– Keep integrity by safeguarding and maintaining the accuracy and completeness of
System, including LPARs, data and information without compromise.
– Ensure data availability for the applications functionalities.
– Provide iSeries account creation, deletion, lockout and modification services
as required.
– Provide required security, authority and access controls for account, as
required to access appropriate data, programs, applications, libraries, etc.
