Job Title: Master Data Lead – SAP Master Data
Location: Hybrid role – Must be commutable to client office in Frisco, TX : 3-4 days per week onsite.
Duration: 6–12 months (with possible extension)
Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned Master Data Lead with deep expertise in SAP Material Master data and a broad understanding of core SAP master data domains including Vendor, Customer, BOM, Routing, and Finance-related master data. This role will provide leadership in defining and enforcing data governance policies, driving material master data strategy, and ensuring data quality and process consistency across the enterprise.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on SAP experience, a strategic mindset, and the ability to interface with both business and IT stakeholders in a global, matrixed environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead material master data strategy and operations, including data modeling, attribute standardization, and lifecycle management across raw materials, semi-finished, and finished goods (ROH, HALB, FERT).
- Oversee end-to-end master data lifecycle processes and cross-functional data governance for key SAP master data objects (Material, Vendor, Customer, BOM, Routing, Cost Center, etc.).
- Collaborate with supply chain, procurement, finance, quality, and IT teams to align master data standards and workflows with business objectives.
- Design and implement data governance frameworks, approval workflows, and stewardship models to ensure data accuracy and accountability.
- Define and enforce data quality KPIs, monitoring routines, and remediation processes.
- Lead efforts related to data migration, harmonization, and readiness for SAP transformation initiatives (e.g., S/4HANA, SAP ECC rollouts).
- Provide subject matter expertise in master data tools (e.g., SAP, Stibo STEP, Informatica, LSMW, Winshuttle) and support mass data creation and updates.
- Facilitate training and change management to promote data ownership and adherence to governance policies across the enterprise.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 7+ years of experience working with SAP Master Data, with a strong focus on Material Master in both ECC and/or S/4HANA environments.
- In-depth knowledge of data attributes and dependencies across SAP functional areas (MM, SD, PP, FI, CO).
- Proven leadership in master data management (MDM), governance programs, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Hands-on experience with SAP, data migration tools, and quality monitoring solutions.
- Strong understanding of business process integration and the role of master data in end-to-end process performance.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience leading data workstreams in large-scale SAP implementations or digital transformation programs.
- Background in manufacturing, CPG, or life sciences industries is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with regulatory or compliance-related data requirements (e.g., REACH, RoHS, GxP).
